BSI International Expo 2025, held by Bank Syariah Indonesia together with Danantara, this time carries the theme of Engaging Indonesia in the Global Halal Industry which presents various product exhibitions from 330 MSMEs based on BSI, Hajj Umrah services to Sharia finance exhibitions that are expected to strengthen the sharia economic ecosystem to make Indonesia the leader of the Global Halal Ecosystem. The exhibition runs for three days from June 26-29.
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA -- The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) sees a shift in the trend of consumption of halal products. Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry Eko Cahyanto said it was an opportunity to strengthen Indonesia's role in the supply chain of the global halal industry, which is worth 2 trillion US dollars or Rp 31 thousand trillion.
Eko, in a press conference on the Ministry of Industry's Participation in Halal Indo 2025 in Jakarta on Monday (22/9/2025), said the halal industry in Indonesia has shown significant development. It was driven by the thematic development of halal which today is no longer just adherence to rules, but has evolved into a part of the modern lifestyle that represents quality, safety, and sustainable products.
“Halal principles are present not only in consumer products, but also in supply chains, services, and daily living patterns. It is this ecosystem that provides added value to the industry while strengthening the competitiveness of national products in the global market,” he said.
Referring to Law (Law) 59 of 2024 on the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), one of the policy directions for the development of the processing industry is to become the center of the world halal industry.
In order to implement the policy direction, the Halal Industry Center of the Ministry of Industry has six main programs namely preparation of technical policy, establishment and strengthening of halal industry infrastructure, development of halal industry HR, facilitation of halal industry, improvement of promotion and cooperation of halal industry, and supervision and control of halal industry.
Eko further said his ministry wanted to affirm its commitment to strengthen the downstream halal industry, expand exports, and strengthen Indonesia's role in the global halal value chain.
